Digital Scholarship and the Public Good

To celebrate Open Access Week the LACUNY Scholarly Communications Roundtable is hosting an event on Digital Scholarship and the Public Good.

Join CUNY Librarians and Faculty for a talk by guest speakers, Polly Thistlethwaite and Jesse Daniels, CUNY faculty and authors of Being a Scholar in the Digital Era: Transforming Scholarly Practices for the Public Good (Policy Press, 2016). The talk will be followed by a lively open discussion about scholarly practices, digital publics, activism, and the ethics of sharing. Refreshments will be served.

The presenters encourage session attendees to submit questions and comments in advance of the session to start a discussion.

Previously, Polly Thistlethwaite and Jesse Daniels hosted an ACERT Lunchtime Seminar titled, “Publishing, Impact and Rights: Navigating the Changing Landscape of Being a Scholar.”

Please share this announcement widely with faculty and staff at your campus.
