When: October 10, 2017, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Where: Charlotte Frank Classroom (1203 HE)

Presenter(s): Malcolm Campbell (Biology, Davidson College)

Are we doing everything we can in our classes to maximize student learning? In this Lunchtime Seminar, Malcolm Campbell, Professor of Biology from Davidson College, will highlight evidence-based, active learning teaching methods that empower students to construct their own knowledge, better retain class information, and achieve success in our courses. Examples will primarily come from biology classes and Campbell’s twenty-four years of teaching experience, but Campbell will lead all participants in preparing active learning activities for their own courses based on their learning objectives. Through role-playing activities, he’ll engage Hunter faculty members from a variety of disciplines to ensure the success of active leaning methods in their classrooms.
