New York City and its Archives: Engaging Students with Original Sources

This seminar will explore the role of faculty and librarians in facilitating student access to New York City’s archives and archival resources. The six panelists will discuss the theme of accessibility to archives and the role that archives can play in educating students and the community. In particular, the seminar will address the exceptional benefits of incorporating archival research into the mainstream classroom, as well as some challenges. The presenters will provide examples of creative projects that serve to engage students and the community at large.
