Partners wanted! Getting funded with the Office of Research Administration

When: October 13, 2015, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Where: Charlotte Frank Classroom (1203 HE)

Presenter(s): Elizabeth Da Silva Cardoso (Educational Foundations), Carolynn Julien (Office of Research Administration), Robert Buckley (Office of Research Administration)

Getting funded, especially for the first time, can be an intimidating process – unless you partner with the Office of Research Administration! Elizabeth Da Silva Cardoso will describe her journey toward receiving a grant for her work helping students of color with disabilities achieve success in STEM. Critical to her accomplishment was a partnership with the Office of Research Administration, which guided her thorough developing the program proposal, forging collaborative relationships, negotiating with the program officer on many components including budget and evaluation, submitting annual progress reports and managing subcontractors. Seminar attendees will have the opportunity to share their research interests and ask for feedback from the presenters.
