Start off the new year with focused writing time and peer support from colleagues across Hunter College! Join us from Tuesday, January 6 through Friday, January 9, for community & accountability, and above all plenty of dedicated time to get your writing projects moving forward!
How it works:
We’ll meet on Zoom at 9am for a quick 15-minute check-in to share daily writing goals. Then the room will stay open until 12pm for focused, quiet writing time together. You’re welcome to join in whatever way works best for you—every day, just once, or whenever your schedule allows.
Why participate?
Research shows writing alongside others can reduce isolation, boost productivity, and help keep your goals on track, even during the trickiest phases of a project:
- It is well-documented that writing groups increase productivity
- Create the conditions for motivation to write even on low-energy or low-motivation days
- Afford opportunities for networking across disciplines and even help writers articulate their research to wider audiences
- Writing with others makes the activity easier and more enjoyable
- Even when it’s a struggle, celebrating small successes along the way makes success more tangible
All full-time and part-time Hunter faculty, staff, and doctoral students are welcome. Whether you’re working on a manuscript, grant proposal, or syllabus: come write with us!
