Why failure matters: Editors from CUNYs Journal of Interactive Technology and Pedagogy on learning from “Teaching Fails”

When: October 27, 2016, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Where: Charlotte Frank Classroom (1203 HE)

Presenter(s): Laura Wildemann Kane (CUNY Graduate Center), Sarah Ruth Jacobs (CUNY Graduate Center)

All faculty work without a net, our pedagogical pratfalls in full view. Understandably, we often avoid talking or thinking about these moments, but these failures are inseparable from the risk-taking we should be doing, and they are often quite instructive. Two editors from CUNYs Journal of Interactive Technology and Pedagogy (JITP) will discuss work from the journal’s “Teaching Fails” section, which features reflections on faculty members’ most interesting and useful failures.
