Instructors face important decisions about when, how, and whether GenAI should be considered in syllabus design and to what degree, if any, GenAI should be integrated into their courses. This practical seminar will explore strategies for teaching both with and without GenAI, including how to align AI use with course learning outcomes. Presenters will share AI policy statements as well as AI assignment designs that promote authentic student learning, and discuss approaches for communicating expectations clearly and consistently with students. Attendees will leave with adaptable policy language and assignment ideas they can implement in their own courses.
