When faculty provide students with one-on-one attention it improves student outcomes not just in the classroom, but over the entire college experience. In this session, we invite panelists from across Hunter to share how they work with students one-on-one outside the classroom. Topics will include holding online office hours, effective advising, giving feedback in conferences, and providing opportunities for first generation or English learner students to engage in conference time with faculty. The panel discussion will be followed by an open conversation about ways to “”teach”” in one-on-one spaces and better leverage this time with students – bring your experiences and questions.
