There is a growing debate among those in and outside the academy over whether the principles of free expression are at risk by practices such as trigger warning and safe spaces. A recently signed Executive Order directs the Department of Education and other government agencies to withhold funds from colleges that limit or restrict free expression. This panel will discuss the inclusive classroom and whether the use of tools like trigger warnings and safe spaces help preserve free expression and the rights of students and faculty in the classroom.
