Call for participation – student research for Library Day

There’s something new this year for Library Day. Hunter College Libraries invites students to talk about their research experiences by creating a poster, digital poster, lightning talk or creative work to be presented on April 21 (10 am-noon) or April 22 (2-4 pm). Submission deadline is March 27, and we will get back to all submitters on April 1st. Materials are due to us by April 8th and will be returned after April 23, Library Day.

Inclusive Classroom: Tools, Rights and Freedom

There is a growing debate among those in and outside the academy over whether the principles of free expression are at risk by practices such as trigger warning and safe spaces. A recently signed Executive Order directs the Department of Education and other government agencies to withhold funds from colleges that limit or restrict free expression. This panel will discuss the inclusive classroom and whether the use of tools like trigger warnings and safe spaces help preserve free expression and the rights of students and faculty in the classroom. Apply to be an ACERT Faculty Fellow in 2019/2020

Each spring semester, ACERT invites applications for potential Faculty Fellows for the following academic year. In a year-long appointment, Fellows work with ACERT in various ways, depending on their particular expertise and inclination. Fellows receive one three-credit course release during the academic year in which they serve. Apply to be an ACERT Faculty Fellow today!
