Course Creation Workshop

When: June 10, 2019, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Where: Center for Online Learning, Hunter North C105

Presenter(s): Shiao-Chuan Kung & Abigail Torres (ICIT)

Calling all former participants of Module-making Camp and all professors getting ready to teach hybrid and online courses! Participate in a 3-day workshop to build components of a course beyond the weekly modules. Learn strategies to maintain a strong instructor presence online and craft your interaction, communication and assessment plan for the semester. Consider ways to streamline the navigation of your course and conduct a self-review using a course evaluation rubric.

With the support of our team of educational technologists, you will create a course banner, a course map, an ice-breaker, student feedback surveys and a course wrap-up activity. While we will discuss a variety of technology tools such as VoiceThread, Padlet, FlipGrid and Screencast-o-matic, we will center our work on Blackboard and assume that participants are familiar with the basics. Please come ready with your syllabus and online modules. Set aside the time to attend all three days and complete the creation of a welcome module for your students at the end of the workshop.
