Hunter Voices: Empower! Explore and Engage in Digital Storytelling

When: April 18, 2024, 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Presenter(s): Liz Klein (Special Education)

Digital stories are a means for storytelling, teaching of content and self-exploration. Digital storytelling can engage students in exploration, deep critical analysis and sharing of stories and discoveries.

Join this hands-on, guided series to understand the value of digital storytelling and create a digital story of your own. While we create our own multimedia storytelling projects, we will discuss how to use stories to build community, foster identity and to create a sense of belonging in our classrooms. We will explore and expand innovative ways to teach content and storytelling at the same time.

From the definition of digital storytelling to the hands-on process of creating a digital story and how your students can use digital storytelling for themselves and their careers, this multi-session series will provide knowledge, understanding and experience with creating digital stories. We will workshop in the sessions and with the guidance of leaders from our Center for Online Learning.

Session dates: Thursday April 11, April 18, May 2 and May 9, from 12:00-1:30pm (online)
