“Open teaching” is on everyone’s lips these days, but how do you actually do it? Today’s presenters will explore some possibilities afforded by the CUNY Academic Commons, a long-standing space for collaboration among CUNY faculty and staff that has recently begun hosting courses as well. Luke Walzer, director of the Teaching-Learning Center at the GC, will give an overview of what the Commons offers instructors, drawing from the work of recipients of the Commons’s OER Fellowship. Two of this year’s fellows, Jeff Allred and Julie Van Peteghem, will discuss their experiences using the Commons to use and create open resources with students.
