Rubrics can be an excellent way of assessing student learning on papers, projects and presentations. But how do you make sure you have a rubric that will truly work for you and your students? And once you have a good rubric, how do you engage students in its use? Erica Chutuape and Lindsay Portnoy will share their innovative techniques for developing and implementing rubrics in collaboration with students. Erica will discuss how rubrics can clarify expectations, support higher quality work, and give students more ownership of the class. Lindsay will discuss how to use rubrics to engage students in the process of assessment, allowing for richer feedback and more meaningful interaction with course content.
