Starting your Course Design with the Hunter Online Course Template

When: January 20, 2025, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Presenter(s): Shiao-Chuan Kung (Center for Online Learning)

To support the design of Brightspace courses, especially those taught in hybrid or online modalities, the Center for Online Learning has created a course template with suggestions and reminders following best practices stated in the Online Course Quality Review Rubric. It includes anchors for items that should be included in any course such as an orientation module, a student help module and a faculty help module with links to resources. It also contains elements that are particularly important for hybrid and online courses such as netiquette guidelines for synchronous and asynchronous communication and student feedback surveys. Professors can use this template as a starting point for creating their courses, decide what parts to use and edit the recommended activities and content. Join us for a half-hour workshop on what is in the course template and how to use it.
