When: August 14, 2023, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Presenter(s):
A “week zero” module is an orientation or welcome module, where students can find course information and begin to introduce themselves to each other and the instructor before the start of the semester. These “week zero” materials and activities can help students to better understand the goals and structure of the course, and allow the instructor to begin the first day of classes with a focus on course content.
Come build a “week zero” module with us in August! Camp consists of short presentations and plenty of hands-on work with individualized support from educational technologists and faculty facilitators. We will meet on Zoom.
During this 3-day camp, you will…
- build an entire “week zero” module for a future course in Blackboard
- use different tech tools and Blackboard features to create ice-breaking activities, record a welcome video, and design course orientation guides
- develop communication plans and curate edTech resources for students
- exchange ideas with faculty from different disciplines
- get feedback and gain ideas for improving your module before sharing it with students
