The Racial Equity in the Curriculum Fellowship

In Spring 2022, ACERT developed a new Fellowship program, where Hunter faculty create professional development events and resources on equitable teaching and learning for their colleagues at the College.

This Fellowship was created in consultation with the Chairs of the Curricular Enhancements Subcommittee of the Presidential Taskforce to Advance Racial Equity in the Curriculum, Anthony Browne (AFPRL) and Janet Neary (English). ACERT hosted Dr. Browne and Dr. Neary in a special event where they presented on the work and recommendations of their Subcommittee.

After a college-wide call for applications, five inaugural Fellows were selected. They are awarded a three-credit course release or a $5,000 stipend to pursue their projects. Programming and events started in late August and will continue through the academic year. Learn more about the Fellows and their projects here.
