The CUNY Academic Commons is an online, academic social network for faculty, staff, and graduate students of the CUNY system. Designed to foster conversation, collaboration, and connections across the 24-campus CUNY system, the site, founded in 2009, has quickly grown as a hub for the CUNY community and has become a national model for the construction of web-based infrastructure for collaboration and intellectual exchange on campuses. Matt is Director of the Commons, and he will give an overview of its aims, contents, and potential uses. ACERT leadership will also introduce a new ACERT group on the Commons and facilitate a discussion on ways of using it to foster collaboration and community at Hunter.
