ACERT Special Events Fall 2026

This fall, ACERT is offering a series of special events and programs designed to support teaching, research, professional development, and community at Hunter College. We invite faculty and staff to join us for opportunities to connect around the work of teaching and learning.


ACERT Launches New Faculty Professional Development Badge Program with Provost Pardasani and Dean Tuten
Monday, September 14, 12-1pm (Zoom)

Join us for the launch of ACERT’s new Faculty Professional Development Badge Program with Provost Pardasani and Dean Tuten. The program offers faculty an opportunity to engage in professional development.

Image Description and Alt Text with Kate Nesin
Wednesday, September 16, 7-9pm | Hemmerdinger (E706)

Co-sponsored with the Department of Art & Art History and the Sainsbury Initiative, this session will explore practical approaches to writing effective image descriptions and alt text to make course materials more accessible.

#HunterWrites and the NCFFD 14-Day Writing Challenge
Monday, September 21–Friday, October 4, 8-9am (Zoom)

Join colleagues for the NCFFD 14-Day Writing Challenge, hosted through ACERT’s #HunterWrites community. The challenge offers dedicated writing time, accountability, and community support.

Our Stories Are Strength: Conversation with Ly Tran, Author of House of Sticks
Tuesday, September 22, 4-6pm | Hunter East 216 (Cooperman Library, 2nd Floor)

Join us for a conversation with Ly Tran, with thanks to the Provost’s Office’s Student Engagement Fund, we will provide food from Vanessa’s Dumplings, and thanks to the support of ACERT and Interfaith America, we’ll have 30 copies of Ly Tran’s memoir, House of Sticks, available for participants (first come, first served). 

Research at Hunter: Who, What, Where, When, and How
Wednesday, September 23, 12-1pm (Zoom)

Learn more about research at Hunter College and the resources, people, and opportunities available to support faculty research and scholarship.
