ACERT is excited to host two events with guest speaker Malcolm Campbell, Professor of Biology from Davidson College, on Tuesday, October 10th.
From 10:00 am – 11:30 am, an Assessment Breakfast titled, “Assessment in STEM – Teaching Science Like a Scientist,” will help faculty measure the impact of their courses on students. Malcolm will explore some common methods of assessment and give participants hands-on time to develop their own strategies. A light breakfast will be served.
From 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm, a Lunchtime Seminar titled, “Active Learning is Lecturing⁻¹,” will highlight evidence-based, active learning teaching methods that empower students to construct their own knowledge, better retain class information, and achieve success in their courses. Lunch will be served.
Both events will be held in the Charlotte Frank Classroom (1203 Hunter East).
Space is limited. Please send your RSVPs to acert@hunter.cuny.edu.
