On Wednesday, December 20, 2017, from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm, panOpen is hosting an Open Lab at NY EDTECH WEEK on Open Educational Resources (OER) — and you are invited! Open Educational Resources (OER)—free materials that can be remixed, revised, and shared with anyone—are now emerging as a compelling low-cost alternative to commercial textbooks. This panel will discuss whether that cost-lowering is their primary value and purpose or whether it is an entry point for a radically new way of thinking about pedagogy and teaching materials. In other words, are OER more like generic versions of drugs or like the open source software that changed the world?
