Register as a presenter for “Small Teaching Part II: Lightning Talks on Teaching and Learning”

For the final Lunchtime Seminar of the fall semester on November 1st, 12-2pm, ACERT invites volunteers to present short “lightning talks” on any aspect of their teaching and learning. The topic for presentations is open, and presenters are encouraged to talk about anything that they feel will be interesting to the ACERT community. In particular, we encourage presentations on the following two topics:1) demonstrations or discussions of activities and changes to your class based on James Lang’s Small Teaching blog posts; 2) follow-up demonstrations or discussions of topics and activities that were presented in previous Lunchtime Seminars at ACERT (either this semester or earlier).
The talks should be “lightning” and no longer than 3 minutes long and include no more than 3 Powerpoint slides or other visual aide. Please let us know that you are planning to present by filling out the Google Form here. We plan to give time for an open discussion of the talks, but presenters do not need to be present for the entire two-hour seminar if you need to leave early or come late. You can indicate your availability on the form.
Thanks for participating as presenters and participants in this new Lunchtime Seminar format!
