Hi Hunter Faculty/Staff! Do you have a story you’ve been itching to tell? Or are you craving to make space to find a story to tell, through a consistent, creative practice? Or most simply, do you believe that all writing comes down to good storytelling? Then join us for some creative writing workshops this spring! These interactive workshops will aim to help academic professionals foster their storytelling skills, through a flexible structure of community and feedback.

FUN FACT
Toni Morrison published her first book at age 39, and she credits the beginning of her writing practice to a writing group she joined while teaching at Howard 🙂 You can find more fun details at the end of this interview Morrison did with Terry Gross in 2015.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
-
Each session is virtual and 1.5 hours
-
Attendance is flexible, allowing participants to opt-in whenever works best for them
-
Attendees can submit up to 500 words per session (your writing can be about anything, though try to use this as an opportunity to lean into more narrative/storytelling)
-
Sharing work is totally optional—you can attend just to participate in the discussion if you’d like
-
Each piece will be read aloud anonymously and then discussed amongst the group, with written notes sent to each writer afterwards.
